American Benefits | www.amben.com
The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical and/or dental and vision expenses. The nice part about an FSA is you have access to the full annualized amount on day one! The election you make cannot be changed throughout the year unless the change aligns with the qualifying event.
There are two types of FSA options:
- Full FSA: To pay for qualifying medical, dental, and vision expenses. This type of FSA is only available if you do not have an HSA.
- Limited Purpose FSA: To pay for qualifying dental, vision, and post-deductible medical expenses. This type of FSA is available for those who have an HSA.
Plan Details are as follows:
- You can contribute up to $3,200annually.
- If you enroll in an HSA plan, you will be eligible for the Limited Purpose FSA only which can be used for qualifying dental and vision expenses.
- You have access to your full annualized election amount on day one.
The Dependent Care Account (DCA) allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible dependent care expenses. Qualifying expenses include daycare, nursery & preschool tuition, summer day camps, and more!
The election you make cannot be changed throughout the year unless the change aligns with the qualifying event. For example, you can increase your contribution if you add another member to your family through birth or adoption, however, you cannot decrease your contribution for this type of life event.
Plan Details are as follows:
- You can contribute up to $5,000 annually or limited to $2,500 if you are married and file separate tax returns.
- You only have access to the funds of which you have paid into the account.
- Any unused funds are forfeited.
Note: In order for expenses to qualify for reimbursement, both you and your spouse (if applicable) must be working, looking for work or attending school full time during the period for which you are requesting reimbursement.
Commuter
Commuted Benefits allow you to pay for eligible transit and parking expenses with pretax dollars. Since they are deducted before federal income taxes and Social Security taxes are calculated, your taxable income is lowered; you pay less tax in each paycheck; and you reimburse yourself with tax-free money from your account.
Dental
Group #3343203 | (800) 244-6224 | www.myCigna.com
AITX's dental plans provide comprehensive coverage to help you and your family maintain good dental health. You have access to a second lower cost dental plan. Both dental plans include both in and out of network benefits. However, if you do go out of network it is likely that you will experience balance billing.
You have the choice of two dental plans - The Base Plan includes a deductible (for basic and major services only), no orthodontia coverage, higher cost sharing for basic services and an annual maximum that doesn't accumulate year over year - OR - The Buy Up Plan. The Buy up plan has richer benefits for basic services, includes orthodontia and offers an opportunity to increase your annual maximum if you receive an annual preventive visit each year.
Cigna offers one of the largest dental networks: DPPO. You will not be balance billed if you see a DPPO dentist - giving them added savings. If you do choose to visit a nonparticipating dentist you may be balance billed and may have to pay more.
